Website:
In 2010 the Television Motion Picture Car Club (TMPCC) was looking for help with their website. A friend of mine connected me with Ken Latka, the President and Founder of the TMPCC. Along the way I updated their website design in HTML and CSS, and made the necessary text content changes as requested. Since then, PCCD has updated the text content on all their pages bi-annually, in addition to keeping their Past Events links up to date on a regular basis.
Logo and Banners:
The TMPCC logo (a trademarked hot rod movie camera on wheels) was created by another designer, but the design was only intended for their website, club letterhead and decals. TMPCC needed to have large banners made for their annual events at CBS Studio Center, and they looked for a solution to have their logo digitally updated. PCCD was up to the challenge and we updated the logo to be print ready. We also designed the large banners per TMPCC’s requirements.
New Website:
As time goes on and web design evolves, we started discussions with the TMPCC about a new website design based on a different platform, something that would offer them faster responsiveness and better functionality. We decided on WordPress, as it is much easier to maintain and it also offers the client the flexibility to update their own text content as needed. This made the client extremely happy, because their old site had developed some issues, which limited the functionality and look the client desired.
We were asked to keep the overall design of the TMPCC site clean and simple, so we left out the distracting animations (transitions and picture sliders that were a concern to the club officers) who wanted to maintain a professional site that focused on the content (not on animations they felt would be a distraction). This also allows the TMPCC website to load up quickly with almost no delay on mobile devices.
We also recommended a new TMPCC Home page to offer visitors a “visual road map” to the rest of their website. The client wasn’t sure of our suggestion at first, but once they saw it, they were sold and now they absolutely love the end result.
In addition, since the TMPCC is a member and sponsor funded club, it was extremely important to display all the clubs sponsors in their proper categories and as prominently as possible. The best solution decided on by both PCCD and the TMPCC was to place all the sponsors’ logos on the bottom of each page of their website, with links to their sponsor’s websites.
The club, its members and their sponsors are delighted with the end result PC Creative Design provided, and they have asked PCCD to continue as their web design team into the future. We are more than happy to provide the services they request of us.
